I am not at issue … with sincere and genuine scholars, but with a vast and vague public opinion which has been prematurely spread from certain imperfect investigations, and which has made fashionable a false notion …

Corrections in early QurʾĀn Manuscripts
Dr. Brubaker’s first book, an introduction to his work documenting post-production changes to early Quran manuscripts, is now available in both standard and full-color editions
sharing life, travel, and adventures
The world is an amazing and beautiful, sometimes fun, and sometimes tragic, place. Daniel’s dad taught him how to use a camera in the 1970s. In the 80s, he took and developed thousands of photos in a darkroom as yearbook editor. Ever since, he has enjoyed capturing moments and including others in his experiences via photography. Frequent travels far and wide have provided many wonderful vantage points, some of which are shared here. (Unless otherwise noted, all photos contained on this website are Copyright © Daniel A. Every person has limited time in this world. Caring for what’s true and seeking what is just are important, and both require people to offer themselves for a season to public service.
According to the Bible, kindness and truth go hand-in-hand:
“Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.” (Proverbs 3:3)
Dr. Brubaker and his family have throughout their lives been involved in community service through volunteer and other activities. Such has taken the form of teaching, music, charitable work, and help with logistics and events, to name a few. In 2020, he began a YouTube channel titled “Variant Quran,” as a vehicle for wider dissemination of his Quran manuscript research. In 2022, he began a second YouTube channel titled “Kindness and Truth,” taking its name from the Proverbs verse quoted above, and that channel’s first videos are under development.
In late 2020, Dr. Brubaker was asked to consider running for school board in his home of Loudoun County, Virginia. He had preliminary meetings to explore the possibility in early 2021, and in January of 2022 he began collecting signatures to get onto the ballot in the Catoctin District. By March, his candidacy was official. If the voters choose him, he will serve a four year term on the LCPS school board, intending to offer wisdom and to guide the LCPS organization in a direction that will help the kids, parents, and taxpayers of Loudoun County.
Civic duty is best if shared by many citizens and for a season of their lives. Dr. Brubaker intends to conduct his service to the Loudoun County Public Schools (if elected) alongside other pursuits such as his ongoing book publications and important Quran manuscript research. But he hopes that other regular Americans will follow his lead and similarly offer themselves to help at a local level.
